Results of protection strategy in electoral context

“At the moment our operators are busy; please stay on hold, we will be with you shortly”. This is one of the usual locutions that users hear every time they call customer service. Minutes wasted on the phone trying to solve, for example, an error in the bill, which is not their responsibility, are one of the reasons why, in the end and in desperation, they end up asking to speak to the cancellation department.

3.- Price out of market: Although it is true that, sometimes, it is impossible to lower the price further, in others it is because the company has not reviewed its policy or studied how it can reduce previous costs, which allow adjusting it. To remain competitive it is not always necessary to cut prices, since they have to continue to cover expenses and provide a profit margin, but it is necessary to adjust them to the quality or offer an extra that justifies it. iPhones cost from 700 euros and, despite this and the fact that there are much cheaper models on the market, they fly out of the stores; Apple has managed to surround its brand with exclusivity.

The issue of copyright of images on the Internet, when looking for photos or vectors for our Online projects, is usually a doubt that most of us have had on more than one occasion.

The WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) explains that intellectual property refers to the creations of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, etc. As well as symbols, logos, names and images used in commerce.

Of course, normally these creations also need a support or medium to be transmitted, and nowadays the Internet is one of the most common methods of dissemination. And everything on the Internet is for many “free” in the double sense of the term: free and free, isn’t it? Well, no.

It should also be remembered that although there are international harmonizations or conventions, the laws of each country may differ on some points, especially with regard to the term of protection after which copyright expires.

The reason I thought it was inappropriate was that it was a personal question. After some thought I had managed to formulate it in a way that didn’t seem intrusive, but in the end it was. And now, more than a decade and a half later, the documentary miniseries ‘Inside Bill’s brain: decoding Bill Gates’, produced by Netflix, has answered in great detail the question that I did not dare to ask at the time to what was, and is, one of the most influential people on the planet.

More than a decade ago Buffett announced that he would gradually donate 99% of his fortune to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a decision that reflects his commitment to philanthropy. During the documentary footage Gates and Buffett have several conversations that describe their complicity and the firmness with which they intend to undertake those projects that can have a positive impact on the opportunities of the most disadvantaged groups in the poorest or developing countries. And many of them are in Africa.

Horse in Motion (Locomotive Animal) is an animated series of a galloping racehorse. The pictures were taken by Eadweard Muybridge and first published in 1887 in Philadelphia.

Cinema (short for cinematograph or cinematography) is the technique and art of creating and projecting film footage (as films were known in their early days). Etymologically, the word “cinematography” was a neologism created at the end of the 19th century and composed from two Greek words: on the one hand kiné, which means “movement” (see, among others, “kinetic”, “kinetics”, “kinesis”, “cinetheque”); and on the other hand γραφóς (graphos). This was intended to define the concept of “moving image”.

The history of cinema began with the Egyptians, the Greeks and the Romans. They showed the idea of movement through successive drawings. Eventually, in Asia, they began to perform light and shadow games that consisted of projecting shadows on the white surface of a cloth by lights behind the spectators’ backs. In turn, this invention inspired the creation of the “Magic Lantern” in the 17th century. An optical device based on a box that captured images from the outside and projected them inside and then worked in reverse.
