Automaker Ford has reached an agreement to sell its Hertz car rental division to a group of investment firms for about $12.3 billion including debt. The buyers are investment firms Clayton Dubilier & Rice, Carlyle Group and Merrill Lynch Global Private Equity, which will pay $5.6 billion in cash to Ford.
Ford has been losing money on car manufacturing and sales in the United States and only parallel activities, such as vehicle purchase financing, have allowed the manufacturer to report positive results.

The device, MarketWatch notes, has 10th-generation Intel Corp. processors and starts at $1,299, with a preferred price of $1,199 for education-focused users.

Pfizer is working with German drugmaker BioNTech. Human trials of the experimental vaccine, they said, began in Germany late last month. They expect to have results soon.
