White mold on walls

Móstoles, Jul 8 (EFE) – The Móstoles City Council has temporarily ceded social housing to a family that had been living for weeks in a house classified by an expert as “uninhabitable” as a result of damp coming from an upper floor, currently empty and owned by Bankia, for which no one was responsible.

Until this Monday, Cristina -who suffers from a significant disability-, her husband José María -currently unemployed- and their two minor children, have been forced to live under these humidities, which had spread in the form of mold, in their apartment in Plaza de Nicaragua, 15.

“We have been asking for almost a month to be let into the apartment, that the damp was coming from upstairs, but we were told that the house was squatted until May, but now it was empty,” Cristina told Efe, who regrets that until now the bank had only “given them a long time”.

Both have explained that their insurance expert has qualified the house as “uninhabitable”, but that they could not repair the damp until the upstairs, where the fault is supposed to be, was fixed, since it would be useless if the focus remained unrepaired.
