Miami Gardens sues Mayor Carlos Gimenez over Formula One race In 2019 Formula One and the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens announced the signing of a contract to bring the auto racing championship to South Florida.

In the lawsuit they accuse the county of mistreating its black residents, and claim that the Formula One race, whose noise would be considered environmental pollution, is “the most recent example” of racism.

Nine months ago, Miami Gardens residents also sued the Dolphins and Formula One in civil court. In addition, they staged a protest at the Super Bowl held last February.
