These are all questions we get asked frequently. And while it may look like magic in a bottle, Slime is much more like a science experiment! Let’s dive into what actually happens inside the tire when you inject Slime.
The liquid doesn’t expand (like a foam) as it enters your tire. Instead, as the tire rotates, the liquid coats the inside of the tire (which is why Slime doesn’t work inside inflatables, it doesn’t rotate. It only accumulates at the bottom).
Slime takes advantage of this same process. When your tire gets a puncture, and all the air starts whooshing out, it pulls the Slime tire sealant toward the hole, where the physical particles stop it up.
Unlike some scientific experiments, Slime doesn’t make a mess and it doesn’t smell. In fact, it’s an environmentally safe formula, so it’s non-toxic, non-hazardous and non-flammable. And we understand that flat tires happen no matter how hot or cold the weather, so Slime is effective under the most extreme temperatures (low freezing point of -35藲F and a high separation point of 182藲F). Finally, the Slime eco formula is water-based, so the tire sealant cleans up easily with water and a rag.
How do tubeless tires work?
Tubeless (TL) or tubeless tires: these tires do not use a tube. To prevent air loss, they have a part inside the tire called bead which, as it has steel rings inside it, prevents it from coming out of the rim. The rim must be specific for these tires.
Which is better with camera or without camera?
The main advantage of tubeless tires is their performance in the event of a puncture. In a tubed tire, air is lost quickly, jeopardizing the safety of passengers. Tubeless tires, on the other hand, prevent accelerated air loss.

Other times it can be the rider’s choice, for example for a trail it can be practical if we lower the pressures to ride a lot in the countryside, to wear a tube because with low pressures and without tube it is possible to bead or lose air. In your case, with tires that need an inner tube, the advantage is that you can choose from a wider range of tires by opting for tubeless models that, as we said, you can use without any problem (wearing an inner tube). The casing is somewhat more resistant but in case of a puncture from a nail or whatever “blunt” you will not have the advantage of losing air slowly, which makes tubeless tires safer (with a tube it can burst or lose air almost instantly).
What are the advantages of tubeless tires?
In tubeless tires, the pressurized air is located between the rim and the tire, which is lined inside with a rubber that plugs the hole in case of a puncture. All this increases the safety of not suffering a skid in case of a puncture.
How do I know if my tires are tubeless?
It is very easy to find out, you just have to see if inside the rim you can see the rim tape. The rim tape is like a plastic tape if you remove it underneath you will see spoke holes. In this case your rim is NOT tubeless.
What does Radial without camera mean?

Motorcycle tubeless tire
But neither one nor the other is the best option just for the sake of it. You have to know that both have advantages and disadvantages, which we explain in this post so that you can make an informed decision before spending on one or another type just because you were told about it.
This tire system is the classic and most widespread because it is cheaper. It consists of a tube that is inflated with air and is placed inside the rim, and is independent of the tire.
This system is ideal for spoked wheels and is included in many off-road motorcycles, as it is more resistant to the punishment of rough terrain. Another reason for its use is that classic bikes come with stock tube tires and few will dare to take that touch away from them.
Most of these tires have sealing fluid inside that immediately plugs holes caused by punctures, making them easy to repair on the road and preventing immediate loss of air pressure.
Among their disadvantages is the need to change the sealing fluid continuously, at least every two or three months, which is not cheap, although it significantly reduces the chances of losing all the air immediately in case of a puncture.
