Perfectly set to the smallest detail, the Beatles museum offers a journey through the history of the group, from the childhood of Paul, John, Ringo and George to stardom and their subsequent solo careers. Through the story of Julia, Lennon’s half-sister, and the testimonies of Paul McCartney, manager Brian Epstein and producer George Martin, we are immersed almost unwittingly in the magnificent story of four young men from Liverpool who eventually became the fab four (4Fab, as they are known around here), the best-known pop band in the world.
During the more than two hours that the tour lasts, we will feel the anxiety that a group of privileged teenagers experienced when they saw the group perform in Hamburg when they were still nobody; we will get into the skin of that journalist who in the pages of the Mersey Beat News told one of the first concerts of the band, and we will hallucinate with the Yellow Submarine and the White Room, where Lennon recorded Imagine.
The seeded teams (named first) will play the second leg at home. The first legs are scheduled for February 15-16 and February 22-23, while the second legs will be played on March 8-9 and March 15-16.
After the first Champions League draw was declared null and void due to irregularities in its execution, Inter, with Chileans Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sánchez, will have a tough challenge against Liverpool, after being paired with Ajax in the first draw.
Here is my story. Some advice to get started that I wish I had received at the time. The first steps of a girl who, right after finishing her degree, found no other way out but to emigrate to Liverpool. I hope they will be of help to all those who find themselves in a similar situation, I wish you the best of luck!
I put a 10-day limit on my stay at the hostel. In that time I intended to find a house (room) at an affordable price and if possible a job, although in the case of the latter I expected that it would take me more time.
The dreaded moment has arrived. That of ‘Oh, I don’t know what I’m going to say’, ‘Oh, I don’t know English’, ‘Oh, I’m going to be noticed a lot’… and a long etcetera of fears that at times will paralyze you but you have to give them a good kick and think a very clear I HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE.
As time went by my economic level rose considerably (Let’s hear it for me!!!) and I decided to move to the center of Liverpool, in the main street. I remember those months in the new house as the best of my time in Liverpool.
If you prefer, you can also get from Liverpool Airport to Liverpool by train, as John Lennon Airport is only one train stop away from Liverpool city center. You can find out more and buy your train tickets here. If you prefer to travel by car, you can take a cab, or you can book a private car to be waiting for you when you arrive. If you are traveling with family or friends, the option of a private transfer from the airport gate to the door of your hotel or vice versa can be interesting. To find out how much it costs, you can find out here.
Liverpool is a perfect city for a weekend getaway and, for this reason, the price of accommodation skyrockets on weekends. So, if you want a cheap or low cost trip to Liverpool, go from Monday to Friday rather than Friday to Sunday. And, when you go, try to stay in the center of the city because, within the cheap accommodation, there is not so much difference between the center and the periphery. What you are going to save in accommodation money in the periphery, you are going to pay in transportation and time during your stay. Do the math, but I don’t think it’s worth it.
