I’m going to slowly break down these terms in several talks starting with one that you hear a lot which is the chromatic aberration of a lens. I will explain how it is produced, how the effect is seen in a photograph and even how to fix it.

This effect is mainly due to the fact that when light rays pass through a lens they do not all focus on the same point and the light “opens up” as in a prism, breaking down into colors. The larger the aperture, the worse the lens will be.

However, as zoom lenses (the most normal ones) are generally zoom type lenses and move the effect is not maintained throughout the adjusted focal range, hence it is said that in fixed lenses, these effects are much smaller and are better in this aspect.
